I think there should be a legal limit on how long a bad mood is allowed to occupy an entire day. Mine usually gets evicted pretty quickly. I can be upset, disappointed or annoyed like anyone else, but I am terrible at carrying those feelings around for hours just to prove that I had a reason to be upset. At some point something distracts me. Someone says something funny. I notice something ridiculous. My cats do something that makes absolutely no sense. And suddenly I have forgotten that I was supposed to be dramatic. Maybe this is one of the things I like most about my character. I recover quickly. Not because nothing matters to me. Quite the opposite. I can feel things strongly. I simply don't want one unpleasant moment to receive ownership of the remaining twenty three hours of my day. Life is too expensive for that. I would rather change the music, go somewhere, laugh, move, talk to someone I like or simply decide that the day deserves a second attempt. Perhaps that's also what brought me to this dating site. Curiosity usually wins over hesitation with me. I don't know what kind of man I might meet here or whether one conversation could unexpectedly turn into love and a relationship. But I like leaving a little space in my life for things I cannot predict. Some of the best days, after all, begin without announcing that they are going to be important.
I think one of the clearest signs of a good man is how comfortable he is with the word we. Not because I want us to lose our individuality, but because at some point a real relationship stops being two people making every decision as if the other one does not exist. I like a man who naturally thinks about how his choices affect the person beside him. Someone who can make plans and remember that there are now two schedules, two opinions and two sets of feelings involved. At the same time, I don't want permission to become part of our vocabulary. I want consideration, not control. That balance is probably one of the things I value most. I want to feel that I matter in his decisions without becoming responsible for all of them. I want him to have freedom without behaving as if being in a relationship changes absolutely nothing. On this dating site, I hope to meet a man who understands that commitment is not the end of independence. It is simply the moment when another person's happiness starts having a place in your thinking too. For me, love is when I still have my life and he still has his, but somewhere along the way we begin creating a third thing together. Our plans, our jokes, our habits, our memories. I think that little word we can become one of the nicest words in a relationship when neither person has to disappear inside it.
Horseback riding. I love the special mix of freedom, trust and adrenaline it gives me.
