So it’s not surprising that employers give promotions mostly to men who are considered family providers, and family life will not affect their work.
That’s why Russian girls often try to find their self-realization in a family in contrast to men, who seek it in a career. Sometimes a woman even helps her husband with his career instead of making her own (for instance, if there is no money for both them to study, she wouldn’t mind the man to get a better education to build his career). It’s not parasitism, just a distribution of the family responsibilities. Russian ladies are taught that it’s their responsibility to make sure that the home stays clean, and men's responsibility is to make their family financially safe.
